JUNE AT ELEVADOR: LISBON ON THE PLATE, IN THE GLASS, AND OUT IN THE STREETS

Partilhar post

June has arrived, and with it, everything shifts in Lisbon. The sun settles in for good, the streets burst into colour and sound, and the days stretch out as if asking us to linger outside a little longer. At Elevador, all of that makes its way to the table too.

Our new menu reflects who we are: a restaurant rooted in tradition, with bold, thoughtful flavour. We blend Galician heritage — the soul of our rice dishes, broths and fish — with Portuguese flair, where seasoning, sharing and a love for full tables speak loudest. Two sides of the same border, brought together through dishes that respect the product and surprise those who taste them. Those who know us, know this: we don’t follow trends. We honour memory, cook with care, and serve with pride.

And if there’s one month made for celebrating tradition, this is it. The Popular Saints festivities take over every neighbourhood in the city — and you can feel that buzz here too. Did you know that in Lisbon, Saint Anthony is the real star? The matchmaker, the patron saint, the reason behind parades, basil plants and grilled sardines in bread. The party lives in the streets, of course, but it tastes better at the table, seated, surrounded by people who know how to enjoy themselves.

Our suggestion? Start with a walk through Bairro Alto or a sardine feast in Graça. Head to Alfama to catch the parade rehearsals, and then make your way down to Baixa. Here, Elevador welcomes you with open arms and a terrace ready to go. Because after all those steps, few pleasures beat sitting down, ordering a fresh drink, and sharing one of our boards with someone you like.
Coming as a couple or with another pair of friends? Why not ease into the festivities with a wine, cheese and charcuterie tasting? Just €30 for two, and the celebration begins.

This month, Lisbon is all joy — and at Elevador, we’re joining in with dishes worth going out of your way for. Between parades and fado nights, there are two extra reasons to get the group together and book a table: our group menus.

At Santa Justa, for €34 per person, start with sriracha prawns or a beetroot spring roll, followed by seabass, stuffed duck or a vibrant vegetable skewer, ending with an Alcobaça apple tarte tatin that ties it all together. At Elevador, for €39, things step up: codfish ceviche or pistachio-crusted alheira, then monkfish wrapped in pancetta or roast veal with crushed potatoes, and a dessert that changes with the day (just ask!).

Drinks are optional (add €5 or €10, depending on your thirst), spots are limited and reservations must be confirmed. During Lisbon’s liveliest month, this might just be the best party you can throw: sit, sip, eat well, and let the city keep dancing outside.

And speaking of music — did you know that 21st June is European Music Day? We couldn’t let it pass without doing what we do best: creating memorable nights. Join us for one of our live music evenings and celebrate the right way. Our Fado nights are a perfect match for this month’s mood. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, from 8PM to 10PM, let yourself be carried by the voice, the ambiance and the flavour. Some nights stay with you — these are the kind.

June is an invitation. To live the city, to honour tradition, to eat slowly and toast with purpose. At Elevador, we open the door to all of it.

Come in. Lisbon is waiting. And so are we.
